GLOBAL BRIGADES
Holistic development
Global Brigades is the largest student-led, non-profit movement for sustainable health and economic development. It offers university students 1-3 week skills-based voluntary placements ('brigades') in under-resourced communities in Nicaragua, Honduras, Panama and Ghana. Each brigade focusses on a different need of a local community, such as: legal aid, access to clean water, medical care, health education, greater financial opportunity and food security.

Giving educational workshops at the local school on human rights, anti-bullying and domestic violence.
Running pro-bono legal clinics where, alongside Panamanian lawyers, volunteers advised on cases of child support, kidnapping, domestic violence, identity theft and divorce.
Being invited to learn traditional Panamanian dance alongside community members, sampling local food, buying handcrafted goods and visiting an eco-farm in the Panamanian jungle.
